The Magennis Curb Gag has small copper rollers set into the mouthpiece which are designed to roll over the jaw and help prevent a horse from crossing and setting it's jaw. The copper in the rollers is widely known for causing salivation and aiding in accepting the bit. A curb gag is a type of gag where the cord passes through the bit and behind the chin. Located at the bottom of this curb gag cord is a ring to which the rein is attached. The function of a curb gag will be engaged when the rider takes the reins. The bit slides up into the mouth and puts pressure on the lower jaw and chin.
